Its All About Greece!

Greece is amazing! If you love clear blue water, cobble stone streets filled with shops, laying by pools, going on boats, and spending time relaxing, then Greece is the place for you! I spent time on both Mykonos and Santorini. A lot of people have asked what’s the difference? Mykonos is more of a party island, a lot of beaches feel almost like a club atmosphere. The roads are much easier to drive and you can get around the island without much trouble at all. Bakeries can be spotted from pretty much anywhere on the island. There are so many different beaches all over the island that you can spend time at. There is one main town, Chora, which is very laid back and has adorable cobble stone streets with vibrant flowers everywhere. Santorini on the other hand, is much more trendy and upscale. Santorini is much harder to drive because it’s on a hill so the drive can be very tricky. All the houses are built into the hills above the caldera which is amazing. It has a few different towns that you can walk around and spend your time at. Both islands are amazing and it really depends on what you're looking for. I would recommend island hopping to get a feel of both islands if you have the time for it. Greece is one of the most beautiful spots in the world so if you have a chance to go there make sure you do! Overall Tips For Greece- 1. Bring aqua socks! This may not seem very important but trust me on this one. Almost every single beach on both islands have rocks everywhere. Even just walking to find a spot of the beach can be difficult with all of the rocks. Getting in and out of the ocean is much easier when wearing aqua socks. 2. Bring a floaty or buy one at one of the local stores! It’s nice to have something to float on in the water and it can help the rock situation sometimes. Bring goggles! The water is very salty so it can sting your eyes so I would pack a pair just incase you feel you need them. 3. Get a driver in Santorini! The roads are very steep and some people are crazy drivers. If you get a driver normally they will tell you history about the island along the way. We liked using the hotel car service better than taxis just because they were about the same in price and the hotel cars seemed to be much more reliable and had safer drivers. 4. Make friends with everyone on the island! Almost all the servers all over the islands are incredibly nice and they love to get to know you! Also, if you have a chance, make friends with people staying at your hotel. Sometimes, you might even get invited to a Greek wedding! 5.Eat at tavernas to get the full Greece experience. There is nothing like eating right by the crystal clear water, at a tiny laid back taverna. Tavernas tend to be less expensive and have a real authentic feel to them. My next posts will include further details on different spots to hang out, eat, stay, things to do, and so much more! Talk soon! Sam
